DLSP

Goal

To improve the standard and sustainability of the livelihoods of poor households in the rural areas and emerging growth centers within the programme area.

Objectives

Rural communities empowered and rendered self-reliant; Productivity and incomes of households increased and made more sustainable; Natural resources rationally utilized and protected; Critical rural infrastructure improved or provided; and Support to Districts and Sub-counties deepened.

Performance in FY 2011/12

i) Construction of 313 kms of community access roads was completed in the 13 project districts;

ii) 31 boreholes were constructed in Apac, Busia, Kamwenge, Luwero, Masindi, Mayuge, Oyam, Yumbe.

iii) 5 motorized wells were constructed in Bugiri and a gravity flow scheme was completed in Kyenjojo;

iv) 96 pieces of land were surveyed in Apac, Kyenjojo and Kamwenge.
